Grub Street is a literary magazine produced by Towson University and edited by Towson University students.
Cover Art & Design System
The 140+ page publication has a new design each volume that is informed by the chosen cover art and the interests of the class editing the volume. This design system was chosen for its emphasis on bold typography, unique gradient motif and jewel-like color palette.
The Motif
A wavy gradient motif was inspired by the cover art and adapted to elevate the content on each page. Each medium featured in the publication was assigned a color to help the viewer quickly identify what each piece is. The gradient and title of the piece both display this color.
